Eastcoast Electronics is a trusted electronics repair workshop in Ashmore on the Gold Coast. For nearly 40 years we've serviced TVs, amplifiers, subwoofers, commercial microwaves, marine electronics, air conditioning PCBs and a wide range of commercial and domestic equipment. We're a small, dedicated team that takes pride in precise workmanship and reliable results for our customers.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Electronics Technician to join our workshop team. You'll work independently on a varied range of repairs, from diagnosing faults and sourcing parts to seeing jobs through to completion, while collaborating with the team when needed. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their craft and thrives in a busy workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, fault-find and repair complex electronic circuits across audio equipment, domestic appliances and commercial electronics
- Interpret schematics and technical documentation to guide repairs
- Use test equipment accurately, including oscilloscopes, multimeters and signal generators
- Perform quality soldering, including SMD/surface mount components
- Keep clear job notes and accurate records for parts ordering and job tracking
- Manage and prioritise your own job queue efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organised workbench
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics repair
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex faults independently
- Proficiency with professional test and measurement equipment
- Strong soldering skills, including surface mount components
- Ability to read and work from schematics and technical documentation
- Experience servicing valve/tube amplifiers is highly regarded
- Punctual, adaptable and able to manage shifting priorities
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- A team player who also works confidently on their own
Qualifications & Licensing
- Certificate III in Electronics and Communications (or equivalent) preferred, though demonstrated experience will be genuinely considered
- Current Queensland Restricted Electrical Work Licence, or actively working towards one
- Valid Australian work rights
