TESS Search Partners is partnering with McMahon Services to appoint a Senior Estimator to support its continued growth and project pipeline. This is an opportunity to join an established Australian construction and services contractor and contribute to the development of medium to large-scale, multidisciplinary tenders across a diverse range of sectors. Reporting to the Pre-Contracts Manager, the Senior Estimator will play an important role within the Pre-Contracts team, working across the full tender lifecycle from initial opportunity assessment and estimating through to submission, negotiation and project handover. The role will develop and review estimates using both first-principles estimating and subcontractor packages, while contributing to tender win strategies, construction methodologies, programs and commercial decision-making.

Experience across Construct Only, Design & Construct and Early Contractor Involvement delivery models will be particularly relevant.

Key responsibilities include:

- Develop and review detailed estimates for medium to large-scale, multidisciplinary construction projects.
- Contribute to tender win strategies, EOIs, tender submissions and post-tender negotiations.
- Review construction methodologies, tender programs, project requirements and critical path activities.
- Identify and assess technical and commercial risks and opportunities throughout the tender process.
- Coordinate pricing and negotiate with specialist suppliers and subcontractors.
- Work collaboratively with estimators, engineers, submissions teams, design consultants and operational stakeholders.




- Ensure tenders appropriately consider commercial, safety, environmental and project delivery requirements.
- Support the transition of successful tenders into delivery through structured project handovers.

About You The successful candidate will have at least five years of experience within the construction industry, with demonstrated capability across estimating, EOIs, tenders and post-tender submissions. You will have a strong understanding of construction methodology, contract management, cost optimisation and commercial risk, together with the ability to develop competitive estimates for multidisciplinary projects. Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills will be important, alongside commercial thinking, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines. Experience across water, industrial, materials handling, oil and gas, marine or food and beverage sectors will be highly regarded. Relevant education or qualifications across Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business or Finance will also be considered.

This is an prospect for an experienced Senior Estimator to contribute to complex tender opportunities while working closely with pre-contracts, engineering and operational teams. The role provides exposure across the complete tender process, with the opportunity to influence how projects are positioned commercially and ultimately transitioned into successful delivery.
