This is a broad, senior-level accounting position suited to a CA/CPA qualified accountant who has already developed robust financial reporting experience and ideally understands the complexity of a regulated financial services, investment or funds environment.
Working closely with an experienced CFO and Head of Finance, you’ll take ownership across core financial accounting and reporting while gaining exposure to regulatory requirements, investment accounting, treasury and broader finance initiatives.
The role offers considerably more breadth than a traditional reporting position, with the opportunity to understand the wider financial mechanics of a sophisticated and growing organisation.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Month-end and year-end financial accounting and reporting
- Preparation of statutory financial statements and supporting external audit
- Management reporting, balance sheet control and complex reconciliations
- Regulatory and compliance-related financial reporting
- Accounting across investment, trust and other group entities
- Treasury, cash flow, liquidity and funding-related activities
- Technical accounting and application of relevant accounting standards
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Improving financial controls, systems and reporting processes
- Involvement in broader finance, transformation and commercial projects
About You
We’re looking for an experienced CA/CPA qualified accountant with strong technical accounting and reporting capability.
Ideally, you will bring experience from banking, lending, funds/investment management, insurance, superannuation or another regulated financial services environment.
Exposure to areas such as regulatory reporting, investment or trust accounting, treasury, funding, financial instruments or complex multi-entity structures would be highly regarded, but we don't expect one person to have covered everything.
Most importantly, you'll be a capable Senior Accountant who can take ownership of your work, operate confidently with senior stakeholders and is interested in continuing to broaden your financial services experience.
