About the Role
We're now looking for an experienced Senior Motor Loss Assessor - Land & Road to join our Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) team and play a key role in driving technical excellence, assessor development and outstanding client outcomes.
Reporting to the Technical Manager - Land & Road, you will provide expert assessment services across heavy motor vehicles while supporting workflow management, technical mentoring and stakeholder engagement. This is a senior technical role that combines hands-on assessing with leadership and operational support responsibilities.
As we are a fully remote National organisation, you can be based anywhere in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct heavy motor vehicle assessments, including onsite and desktop assessments.
- Prepare accurate, professional assessment reports aligned with client and company standards.
- Support daily assessment allocation and workflow management.
- Monitor productivity, file progression and turnaround times.
- Conduct file audits and provide technical coaching to assessors.
- Provide expert advice on vehicle damage, repair methodology and industry best practice.
- Build strong relationships with clients, repairers,
brokers and other stakeholders.
- Assist with complaint resolution, escalations and large-loss reviews.
- Support repair cost management and quality outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
Skills & Experience
- Trade qualification in Motor Vehicle
- You are a technically skilled assessor with strong industry knowledge and a passion for delivering quality outcomes.
- Previous experience within the Heavy Vehicle and Machinery Industry.
- 5-8+ years' experience in vehicle repair, heavy vehicle, insurance assessing or a related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle repair methodology and damage assessment.
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring or team supervision experience.
- Strong stakeholder management and customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications
