Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.

- Classification: Senior Occupational Therapist Grade 4, Years 1-4 (HR9, HR10, HR11, HR12) plus super

The Team & Role The Senior Occupational Therapist Grade 4 is a senior clinical position within the Intensive Recovery Team. The role provides advanced occupational therapy assessment and intervention, care coordination and clinical leadership for adults living with severe and complex mental illness who experience substantial functional impact and are at risk of recurrent acute episodes or hospital admission. Working within a multidisciplinary community mental health team, the clinician delivers assertive, recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, culturally safe and familyinclusive care in partnership with consumers and carers.

The position holds a complex clinical caseload and strengthens occupational therapy practice across the team through secondary consultation, discipline-specific supervision, student education and service development.

Therapist contributes to multidisciplinary clinical leadership, quality improvement and safe team decision-making, while remaining accountable to the IRT Manager for operational matters and the Discipline Senior Occupational Therapist for professional practice.

The Senior Occupational

Therapist contributes to multidisciplinary clinical leadership, quality improvement and safe team decision-making, while remaining accountable to the IRT Manager for operational matters and the Discipline Senior Occupational Therapist for professional practice.

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

Bachelor or Master qualification in Occupational Therapy that is recognised for registration in Australia.

Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

Substantial post-registration experience in mental health occupational therapy, including community mental health and complex clinical practice, with knowledge and skills commensurate with a Grade 4 role.

Demonstrated advanced skills in occupational therapy assessment, formulation, intervention and outcome evaluation for people experiencing severe and complex mental illness.

Demonstrated clinical leadership experience, including supervision, consultation, education and contribution to quality improvement or service development.

Demonstrated ability to assess and respond to clinical risk, work within recovery and least restrictive frameworks, and apply the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 and other relevant legislation.

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, with robust written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Current Victorian driver licence and capacity to travel across community and Bayside Health sites as required.
