About the role
This position is responsible for providing legal support, specifically in the preparation of matters specifically in NSW CTP, PL and WID matters.
Key responsibilities
- Preparation of matters associated with Personal Injury claims, specifically NSW CTP, PL and WID.
- Meet with clients to take instructions and obtain particulars, documents and information
- Preparing Statements of Claim, briefs, letters of instructions, statements, drafting subpoenas and drafting particulars.
- Navigate, draft and filing all applications (CTP only) in the PIC portal, knowing which forms to use and what to do afterwards when receiving correspondence.
- Participate in teleconferences and conferences
- Arranging and confirming client medical appointments
- Arranging conferences with both internal and external parties such as counsel, barristers, insurers, clients and solicitors.
- Filing in district court
- Preparation for district court hearings
- Draft and maintain accurate and detailed medical report schedules
About you
- Demonstrated experience in the key responsibilities
- Minimum 5+ years experience in plaintiff personal injury as a paralegal
- Advanced computer skills
- Advanced communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent interpersonal and people skills
- High level of organisational skills
- High level of both internal and external customer focus
- Able to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Able to cope with demanding and varied activities with a proven ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
- Flexibility to perform tasks within a broad spectrum of activities
- Work as an integral team member encouraging cooperation within the team
- Would suit a career paralegal/legal secretary
