About the Role The Prevention and International team lead the NACC’s engagement on strategic policy and international partnerships. The team supports the NACC’s contribution to domestic and international anti-corruption initiatives, monitors developments in integrity frameworks and corruption prevention practice, and provides strategic advice to inform the NACC’s prevention activities and its broader integrity remit.
As a Senior Policy and International Officer, you will play a significant role in the development and delivery of the NACC’s policy and international engagement priorities. You will undertake research and analysis on complex corruption prevention and integrity issues, develop high-quality products and recommendations for internal and external audiences, and support the NACC’S engagement with Australian Government agencies, international partners and multilateral forums.
This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
You will work collaboratively across the NACC and with external stakeholders to deliver diverse projects and briefings that support improved corruption prevention outcomes. This includes the requirement to identify and manage risk, share better practice and contribute to the advancement of a pro-integrity culture.
Key activities of this position include:
- Conduct research and analysis on domestic and international anti-corruption frameworks, integrity trends, legislative developments and better practice approaches to corruption prevention.
- Prepare high-quality and evidence-informed briefs, submissions, reports, ministerial and executive correspondence, presentations and other written products to support decision-making and stakeholder engagement.
- Support the Commission’s participation in domestic and international forums, working groups and partnerships, including engagement with government agencies, civil society groups, international organisations and foreign counterparts.
- Monitor and analyse developments in the international anti-corruption environment and brief senior executives on implications for the Commission’s work and Australia’s integrity framework.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support collaboration on common objectives, information sharing and the delivery of corruption prevention outcomes.
- Provide strategic and operational support to the Assistant Director and contribute to broader team and Commission priorities as required.
The NACC is a small agency. In addition to these activities,
from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities. Supporting one another in this way provides opportunities for exposure across the agency and is an integral part of the NACC’s positive workplace culture.
Employment with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) is subject to the following conditions:
Citizenship – Applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
Security Clearance – this is a Designated Security Assessment Position. The occupant of this position will be required to undergo and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1.
Suitability assessment – The NACC must be satisfied that successful applicants are of suitable character. They must undergo a rigorous pre-employment suitability screening process that can be intrusive in nature including (but not limited to) detailed background, character, employment, police, and financial checks.
Probation - A probation period will apply to any recent ongoing engagement to the Australian Public Service.

The NACC provides a service allowance of $2,039 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) to non-SES employees which acknowledges the special requirements of working at the NACC. This includes the need for high-level personal security assessments, the intrusion associated with notifying private financial and social interests and the necessity to engage in practices to prevent targeting by unlawful elements.
