About Senatra
Senatra builds AI-powered technology for Australians navigating care for an older parent. We're creating a consumer app and voice-AI experience that helps family carers understand what to do next, navigate aged care and related health questions, and move through a complex stage of life with greater clarity and confidence.
The role
As Product Manager, you'll own the roadmap and day-to-day delivery for one or more of Senatra's carer-facing product areas. You'll work closely with engineering, design and content to turn real carer problems into clear, buildable requirements — and make sure the team always has what it needs to ship well. This is a hands-on role in a small team: you'll be close to users, close to delivery, and close to the decisions.
Core responsibilities
- Own product priorities and roadmap for your area, in partnership with engineering.
- Run regular user research — interviews, usability testing, feedback synthesis — and turn findings into decisions.
- Write clear PRDs, user stories and acceptance criteria that engineering and design can build from without back-and-forth.
- Make sure content, design and engineering always have the context and source material they need before work starts.
- Define content and safety requirements for AI-driven journeys — approved sources, uncertainty language, escalation pathways, ownership for ongoing review.
- Track and report on product metrics, and use them to guide what gets built next.
- Keep documentation and backlog current in our tools and easy for the team to navigate.
- Make commercially informed prioritisation calls — including saying no to smaller requests when a bigger, more repeatable opportunity is on the table.
Candidate profile
- 4+ years experience owning a consumer product area from discovery through to shipped, iterated features.
- Comfortable running user research yourself — in the room with real users, not just reading someone else's synthesis.
- Robust written communicator — you can turn ambiguity into a document someone else can act on.
- A team player who leads through clarity and initiative, not just title — we're small, so everyone leads something.
- Genuinely cares about carers and older Australians, and wants to build something that actually helps them.
- Comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of an early-stage team.
Working style If you care about craft and about getting the details right, but you don't let that slow the team down. You're comfortable simplifying complexity, making calls with incomplete information, and making sure the right people have the right inputs at the right time. You communicate clearly,
with respect for all team members. You want to your ideas heard and are willing to listen to others. We are your people.
Your first 60 days
If we had worked together for your first 60 days, you would have:
1. Spoken with and observed a meaningful group of family carers to understand the real moments of confusion, urgency and decision-making in their care journey.
2. Produced a concise research synthesis and a prioritised opportunity map that informs the near-term roadmap.
3. Written PRDs, user stories, requirements and acceptance criteria for the first priority releases — ready for engineering, design and content to execute.
4. Established a practical product operating rhythm: a roadmap, a decision log, a research repository, a prioritised backlog, and clear release readiness criteria.
5. Defined the content and safety requirements for at least one priority AI journey, including approved sources, uncertainty language, and escalation pathways.
6. Shipped or materially advanced at least one high-value carer journey — for example, “Where do I start?”, assessment preparation, eligibility guidance, or a structured next-step plan.
7. Established baseline product metrics for activation, task completion, carer confidence, content usefulness, repeat engagement and AI safety signals.
8. Made at least one commercially informed prioritisation call — including deprioritising a smaller request to accelerate a bigger, more repeatable opportunity.
