Biosecurity Queensland (BQ) plays a leadership role in the biosecurity system in collaboration with its stakeholders. BQ leads the Queensland Government's efforts to protect our way of life, setting, biodiversity, human and animal health, industries and economy from plant and animal pest and disease threats.
Through supporting the collective efforts of our stakeholders and all Queenslanders, BQ will continue to protect our state and Australia from emerging plant and animal pests and diseases and effectively manage existing ones.
Invasive Plants and Animals (IPA) significantly affect the environment, agricultural production, infrastructure, human health and our way of life in general. The IPA program directs, facilitates and delivers strategic and targeted action to reduce the impact of invasive species in Queensland.

You will work closely with managers, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to manage project schedules, communications, resources and operational requirements, while providing advice on governance, legislation and compliance.
The role also requires strong stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities, manage risks and drive continuous improvement across project and program delivery.
In this role, you will:

- Support program operations and continuous improvement through procurement and financial activities, legislative and policy advice, monitoring and reporting, and the development of systems, processes and frameworks that enhance project performance and outcomes.
While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, practical experience in project management, leading teams, and an understanding of and ability to interpretate legislation and regulations will be favourably regarded.
