Who you'd be working for A national mechanical services contractor, 40 years established, with 200-plus staff and the subcontractor network to take on work most competitors have to pass on.

They operate in every state and territory, servicing some of the biggest names in Australian property, mining, hospitality and healthcare - tier-one resources clients, major property groups and national hotel brands among them.

The Brisbane branch is in growth mode. That's the whole point of this role: there's more work being won than the current team can deliver, and they need someone to take projects off the pile and eventually build a team underneath them.

Why this one is different No wet construction. This is fitouts, central plant replacements, maintenance and projects - not recent-build. Completely different animal, and if you've done your time on wet trades sites you'll know exactly why that matters.

Genuine variety. One day it's a central plant replacement, the next it's a fitout, the next it's a maintenance programme. Prisons, hotels and aged care are all live sectors - the next project in the pipeline is a correctional facility.

A division to grow, not inherit. You'll have the chance to win work, build the division out, and bring your own small team up around you. That's a very different proposition to stepping into someone else's established patch.

The role

- Managing HVAC projects end to end - fitouts, central plant replacements and upgrades
- Managing project budgets and forecasting
- Programme and timeline management
- Client and stakeholder management across commercial, hospitality, aged care and correctional sites
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site delivery
- Building out the division and, over time, a team around you

About you They're not looking for a seasoned veteran. They're looking for someone with drive who wants to make the role their own.

You'll need:

- Around 3 years' experience post-trade, including time in a project management or supervisory capacity
- The ability to read and work from plans - this one is essential
- Budget management and forecasting experience
- CPR and LV Rescue
- Current driver's licence
- Ability to pass a National Police Check

Ideal, but not essential:

- HVAC trade qualification
- HVAC ticket (depends on the mechanical scope - ductwork and similar)
- Estimating experience is genuinely not required
