The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Sample Preparer - Level 2 to join our Laboratory team. Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, this role is responsible for preparing geological samples for assaying through a combination of laboratory processes and manual handling activities, ensuring samples are processed safely, accurately and efficiently to support operational and exploration objectives.

This is a FIFO role, working on an 8:6 / 7:7 Day & Night Shift roster.
About the Role
- Taking responsibility to safely conduct daily activities on Lab sample preparation area
- Receiving, sorting and maintaining sample sequences to ensure accurate sample tracking and processing
- Loading and unloading samples onto drying racks while maintaining correct numerical order and sample integrity
- Preparing geological samples through crushing, riffle splitting and pulverising using specialised laboratory equipment
- Following established quality control procedures to prevent contamination and maintain analytical accuracy
- Entering, registering and reporting sample information through the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Calibrating equipment and maintaining laboratory standards to support quality outcomes
- Assisting the wet laboratory with assay processing activities as required
- Supporting and mentoring Level 1 Sample Preparers within the laboratory team
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping, safety and hygiene within the laboratory and associated work areas
About You
- Previous experience in sample preparation techniques, with demonstrated relevant laboratory experience
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to consistently perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards
- Sound understanding of laboratory procedures, sample preparation methods and quality control processes
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
- A reliable, motivated and safety-focused approach to work
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual handling tasks, including lifting sample bags up to 25kg
- A willingness to work a 12-hour rotating day and night shift roster
- A current manual Western Australian driver's licence
- Forklift licence or high-risk tickets will be highly regarded
