Where you'll be working:
Belmont Hospital Allied Health Services are a skilled and collaborative team supporting patients across a range of inpatient and outpatient services. The team works closely across disciplines to support coordinated patient care and the day-to-day delivery of Allied Health services.
This Administration Officer Level 2 position is based at Allied Health Reception on the Ground Floor of Belmont Hospital and primarily supports Allied Health outpatient services. The role involves regular interaction with patients, carers, clinicians and administrative colleagues and is an important point of contact for people accessing the service.
Belmont Allied Health offers a friendly, supportive and team-focused work environment. Staff work collaboratively, communicate openly and support one another to manage the changing demands of a busy clinical service.
On-site staff parking is available, with additional street parking in surrounding areas.
About the role:
This permanent part time Administration Officer Level 2 position (0.79 FTE/30 hours per week) provides patient-facing administrative support to Belmont Allied Health outpatient services.
The service operates Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm. There is flexibility in how the 30 hours are worked across the week, with the agreed work pattern determined in consultation with the successful applicant and balanced against operational requirements and service coverage.
The role is an important part of the day-to-day functioning of the outpatient service and includes welcoming patients and carers, scheduling and booking appointments, managing patient arrivals, and responding to telephone and in-person enquiries. The position also receives and appropriately redirects enquiries relating to inpatient Allied Health services and supports clinicians to ensure clinics run smoothly and efficiently.
The successful applicant will be the first point of contact for patients, carers and visitors to Belmont Allied Health. They will work as part of an administrative and clinical team, with regular communication and coordination required to support continuity of service. This role would suit someone who enjoys working with people, contributing to a healthcare team, and working in a busy outpatient environment.
The role requires the ability to manage competing priorities and adjust work tasks in response to changing service needs.
The position is primarily based at Belmont Hospital. Occasional assistance with Allied Health administrative support at John Hunter Hospital may be required.

- Be reliable, adaptable and able to adjust to changing service needs
- work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Be comfortable using a range of computer and electronic systems to complete administrative tasks accurately and efficiently
Previous administration experience would be beneficial; however, local workflows, systems and processes can be learned with appropriate training and support. A positive attitude, strong communication skills, reliability and a genuine commitment to providing a welcoming and professional service are particularly important to the role.
How you'll be supported:
The successful candidate will be supported by the Allied Health leadership team, including the Director of Allied Health, Physiotherapy Service Manager, Deputy Service Manager and Physiotherapy Team Leader at Belmont Hospital. Day-to-day support will also be available from Allied Health clinicians and experienced administrative staff within the service.
A structured on-the-job orientation will be provided, including training in local workflows, administrative procedures and relevant electronic systems. Ongoing guidance and support will be available as the successful applicant becomes familiar with the role and service requirements.
