ABOUT THE ROLE
A part time, temporary Governance and Administration Officer role supporting the General Manager of Governance ahead of the organisation's AGM in late October. You'll prepare board papers, take minutes and manage governance correspondence for a not-for-profit company board, working closely with directors and senior stakeholders. It's a fast-paced role suited to someone who thrives on structure, meets deadlines under pressure and works well independently once across the detail.
DUTIES
- Prepare and coordinate board and committee papers ahead of key governance meetings, including the AGM
- Take accurate board minutes and follow up on actions and resolutions
- Manage board papers and meeting packs through a board portal
- Liaise directly with directors and senior stakeholders to meet tight deadlines
- Support the General Manager of Governance with day-to-day governance and company secretarial administration
- Coordinate governance documentation and correspondence
- Maintain accurate records and files across SharePoint, Outlook and Teams
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Around 2 to 3 years' experience in a governance officer, company secretariat or board support role, supporting the Board of a private company or not-for-profit
- Experience supporting a not-for-profit Board highly regarded
- Working knowledge of governance requirements under the Corporations Act and/or ACNC Act
- Proven experience preparing board papers and taking board minutes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy under time pressure
- Confident liaising with and following up senior stakeholders and directors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working independently with a high degree of autonomy
- Experience with BoardEffect or Diligent highly regarded
