About the role

The Venue Lead is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Penguin Beer Co venue, playing a pivotal role in maintaining the brand's high reputation. Supported by the Managing Director and the Operations Management Group (OMG), this role is critical in driving business growth, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, and fostering the development of the venue team.

Key responsibilities

- Oversee the day-to-day running of the venue, ensuring a secure, welcoming, and high-quality environment for all patrons

- Ensure the venue is highly presentable each day prior to opening and maintained throughout service

- Manage the venue booking system efficiently to maximize capacity and optimize customer experience

- Monitor daily operations to ensure staff are completing required daily tasks, opening/closing checklists, and cleaning schedules

- Act as the primary point of contact for customer feedback, resolving issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction

- Lead, mentor,



and develop the bar staff to build a capable and highly motivated team

- Look after the weekly rostering of bar staff, ensuring adequate coverage while managing labour costs efficiently within budget parameters

- Monitor staff performance on the floor, providing real-time feedback and ongoing training to elevate service standards

- Actively drive venue growth through strategic initiatives and excellent service delivery

- Develop, plan, and execute new events to attract broader audiences, increase foot traffic, and enhance the venue's iconic status

About you

- Flexible availability required, including weekends and evenings in line with venue operations and events

- Expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy in the day-to-day running of the venue

- Ability to work collaboratively with Managing Director and Operations Management Group

- At least 3 years experience in leading teams in a busy hospitality setting
