Walcha Council is seeking and Stores & Logistics Supervisor. This position forms part of the Infrastructure & Development team and provides essential operational support to Council’s infrastructure and works activities by ensuring materials and other operational resources are available when required. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing professional and effective customer service to all internal and external customers of Council.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory and stock records
- Conduct regular stock takes and investigate and report discrepancies
- Coordinate the movement, delivery and collection of materials, equipment and supplies
- Assist with planning for major works programs by identifying anticipated material and supply requirements.
- Ensure documentation is completed accurately and within required timeframes
- Provide administrative support for Council’s private works delivery and invoicing
- Provide stores and logistics support to Council’s works, roads, urban services, water and wastewater, waste and other teams as required
What You’ll Bring
- Previous Local Government experience
- Certificate III or IV in Supply Chain Operations, Warehousing Operations, Logistics, Business or a related field (preferred)
- Forklift licence
- Experience in inventory management
- Experience with purchasing and supplier management
- Ability to work independently
- Current Class C drivers licence
What We Offer
This is a Permanent Full-Time position (38 hours per week) starting at $1,403.60 (gross) + superannuation per week based on Band 2 Level 2, Grade 4 of the Local Government (State) Award 2026. You will enjoy an RDO regularly in consult with your Director.
