About Us

When people talk about the Flying Doctor, thoughts generally turn to red-bellied planes undertaking rescue missions in the Outback. However, the current Victorian story is one that reflects today's challenges for people living in remote and rural communities across the state. While we do still transport people by air and by road, this work is complemented by a range of primary health services that address the most common issues people living in country Victoria face when accessing health care.

About the Role

RFDS Victoria is seeking an experienced People & Culture leader to provide overarching leadership for the P&C; Operations function. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this role leads the Senior P&C; Business Partner, two P&C; Business Partners and the P&C; Coordinator and provides credible senior guidance across employee and industrial relations, operational service delivery and workforce governance.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Lead and develop the P&C; Operations team and allocate portfolios, priorities and workloads.
- Act as the senior operational escalation point for grievances, investigations, performance, conduct, Fair Work obligations and industrial relations risk.
- Provide oversight on modern award and enterprise agreement interpretation, procedural fairness and complex case strategy.
- Guide organisational change, change impact assessment, consultation, redeployment and redundancy processes.
- Own operational service quality, workforce compliance, employee lifecycle and reporting governance.

To be successful, you will need:

- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Industrial Relations, Law, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent substantial experience.
- Significant senior P&C; leadership experience,

including formal people management and complex employee and industrial relations.
- Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, modern awards, enterprise agreements, procedural fairness and consultation obligations.
- Experience guiding grievances, workplace investigations, disciplinary processes, organisational change and employment-risk decisions.
- Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a current Working with Children's Check, National Police Check, and the right to work in Australia.

What working at RFDS can offer you:

- Five non-accruable Office Closure Leave days each year
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
