This position is responsible for ensuring the customs clearance of goods that enter and exit the country in accordance with DSV and industry procedures and transit time standards.
*Please note this position can be based in Melbourne or Sydney
Job Responsibilities
- Authorise any operational requirements to ensure efficient Customs and security clearances for customers.
- Identify tariff or initiatives to benefit the customer in relation to the clearance of goods
- Maintain client product files and auditing.
- Arrange customs clearance and delivery.
- Attend to client enquiries, including tariff classifications and concessions.
- Ensure compliance with AU Customs and
- Quarantine and Inspection.
- Contribute to the customs team to ensure the efficient and timely lodgment of declarations and attainment of clearances.
- Resolve specific issues or provide technical advice to customers and team members.
- Ensure that the levels of pre-clearance are maximized.
- Implement process improvements.
Customer service
- Liaise with customers, company management, and suppliers providing accurate information.
- Establish strong customer service relationship with customers.
Administration
- Ability to liaise with other Departments and service providers to obtain information and or action results.
- Complete paperwork in a clear, legible and accurate manner.
- Ensure accuracy of recorded data in a time productive manner
Selection Criteria
The successful applicant must have a valid Customs Brokers License and hold AEP Accreditation 19.1 (NCCC) & 19.2 (AEPCOM). Excellent communication, meet KPI’s, planning, organisation and problem-solving skills will also be required.
