The Role
We’re seeking a hands-on People & Culture Advisor to join on a temporary basis, with a view to a permanent appointment.
Working closely with the HR Coordinator, Senior People & Culture Business Partner and Manager, you’ll combine day-to-day HR coordination with practical advice and support for managers and employees. This opportunity would suit a HR Advisor who enjoys staying closely involved in operational delivery.
You’ll need to be comfortable getting involved quickly, managing competing priorities and following matters through, with guidance available for more complex issues.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing practical advice on employee queries, policies, employment conditions and entitlements
- Supporting employee relations matters, including performance concerns, grievances and workplace issues
- Assisting with investigations and conflict resolution under the guidance of the Senior Business Partner and Manager
- Preparing employment contracts, variations and other employee documentation
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding,
probation and offboarding processes
- Applying relevant awards and workplace legislation to day-to-day HR matters
- Assisting with OHS/WHS activities, WorkCover matters and return-to-work coordination
- Maintaining accurate employee records and contributing to HR reporting, policy updates and process improvements
About You
You’ll bring solid HR experience, together with demonstrated involvement in employee relations and providing advice to managers. You enjoy the variety of a generalist role and are equally comfortable having a sensitive conversation, preparing documentation or keeping an HR process moving.
We’re looking for:
- Experience in an People & Culture Advisor or similar generalist role
- Practical employee relations experience and sound judgement about when to seek guidance
- A working knowledge of Fair Work requirements, the NES and modern awards
- Practical knowledge of OHS/WHS processes and responsibilities
- Warm, professional communication skills and the confidence to build relationships across the organisation
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and a proactive approach
- Relevant HR qualifications or equivalent practical experience
