About the Role

The Senior Operations Manager is a critical leadership role within the Senior Management Team, reporting directly to the Centre Manager. The position plays a key role in supporting the safe, secure and effective delivery of services across the Centre while ensuring operational excellence, compliance and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead day-to-day Centre operations, ensuring safe, secure and effective service delivery.

- Provide leadership, coaching and support to multidisciplinary operational teams.

- Drive compliance with contractual, legislative and organisational requirements

- Manage operational risk, incident response and continuous improvement initiatives

- Oversee workforce planning, rostering and capability development to maintain operational readiness.

- Monitor detainee welfare systems and promote trauma-informed, culturally responsive practices.

- Develop solid relationships with government representatives, service providers and key stakeholders.

- Prepare operational reports and represent the Centre during audits, inspections and stakeholder meetings.

About You





- Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role within a complex, high-risk or regulated environment.

- Strong commercial and operational acumen, with the ability to balance competing priorities and make sound decisions under pressure.

- Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of building engaged, high-performing teams.

- Highly developed communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.

- A solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

- Experience managing within government-contracted, correctional, detention, security or similarly regulated service environments will be highly regarded.

- An understanding of trauma-informed practice, cultural awareness and person-centred service delivery.

- Certificate Level IV in Security Operations, Technical Security or equivalent.
