The Role:
The Mentor’s role is a full time role located in our Tweed Heads region, working in the Inclusive Employment Australia program.
Our Mentor roles provide ongoing, practical support at all stages of the employment life cycle from pre-employment and during employment. The aim of our Mentors is to help participants overcome barriers, secure suitable employment, and to remain successfully employed.
Key responsibilities and main tasks include:
- Collaborate with participants to uncover their strengths, skills and employment goals.
- Partner with local employers and community groups to unlock inclusive work opportunities
- Provide tailored pre-employment and capacity to keep employment skills.
- Teach participants practical job-search skills, including identifying vacancies, tailoring applications, preparing resumes and cover letters, and submitting applications.
- Develop and deliver tailored mentoring programs to assist individuals in overcoming barriers to finding and maintaining employment.
- Building strong relationships with participants to understand their needs and aspirations by providing appropriate support and advice.
- Delivering group workshops and one-to-one mentoring sessions to equip participants with essential employability skills.
- Maintaining accurate records of participant interactions and progress, adhering to confidentiality and data protection policies.
- Undertake proactive reverse marketing by building relationships with local employers, identifying suitable employment opportunities and promoting participants’ skills and capabilities to secure sustainable employment outcomes
- Match participants with suitable vacancies and employer requirements
- Provide post-placement support to participants and employers, maintaining regular contact to monitor progress, resolve issues and support job retention.

Minimum requirements:
- WWCC prior to commencement
- Ability to obtain a MYID with standard strength
- The right to work in Australia (no restrictions)
- Certificate III or above in Community or Employment services or a relatable field or willingness to enroll and undertake.
- Pass a police check (no fraud charges)
- A driver's license and access to your own car
