Your new company
Looking for a role that offers flexibility, purpose, and the prospect to make a genuine impact on the customer experience?
HAYS Canberra is proud to be partnering with Barbell Foods, one of Australia's fastest-growing meat snack brands. Barbell creates high-protein, no-bulls#&t; meat snacks for health-conscious consumers and has built a reputation for quality products and a bold, authentic brand. At Barbell, customer service is at the heart of the business. Every interaction is viewed as an opportunity to strengthen customer relationships and bring the brand to life. This is your chance to join a growing, ambitious team where your contribution will make a real difference.
This permanent part-time role offers 15 hours per week across weekday mornings. You'll spend your first month training in the Canberra office before moving to a hybrid arrangement, working three mornings in the office and two days from home.
Your new role
As the Customer Service Coordinator, you'll own the day-to-day customer experience across multiple channels. You'll be responsible for responding to enquiries, resolving issues, identifying trends, and helping continually improve customer support processes.
Working closely with the Marketing Manager and internal teams, you'll ensure customers receive timely, professional, and personalised support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing customer enquiries via email, phone, social media, reviews, and live chat
- Coordinating urgent order changes, cancellations, and customer requests
- Resolving customer concerns with a solutions-focused approach
- Communicating proactively regarding shipping delays, backorders, and subscriptions
- Escalating product quality concerns and coordinating internal follow-up
- Maintaining help centre content, response templates, and support resources
- Monitoring customer feedback and identifying improvement opportunities
- Assisting with reporting on customer activity, response times, and service trends
- Ensuring all interactions meet service standards and quality expectations
What you'll need to succeed
You enjoy helping people and take pride in delivering exceptional customer experiences. You're organised, proactive, and communicate with warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail.
To be successful, you'll have:
- Experience in customer service, administration, support, or customer-facing coordination roles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence handling inbound phone enquiries
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities
- The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Strong problem-solving skills and customer focus
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Most importantly, you'll see customer service as a long-term career rather than a stepping stone and enjoy making a positive impact through every customer interaction.
What you'll get in return
- Permanent part-time role working 15 hours per week
- Salary of $31,600 + Super ($80,000 FTE equivalent)
- Hybrid working arrangement after training
- Supportive and collaborative team culture
- Opportunity to join one of Australia's fastest-growing food brands
- Strong work-life balance and long-term stability
- A role where your contribution directly influences the customer experience and business success
