About the Opportunity

We are seeking mechanically minded individuals to use their knowledge coupled with on the job training, encouraging broader skill sets, growth and development of our future team, located at our Salisbury Plains Workshop.

You will play a crucial role in assembling and maintaining sweeper trucks, equipment and machinery. Whether you have currently in an apprenticeship or progressing as an experienced fitter, this role offers the chance to contribute to our operational success whilst building valuable skills in assembly and process work.

What are the main responsibilities?

The permanent full time position will report to the Production Manager. Some of the core duties of this position are:

· Assembly of new machinery, including back-end fitting

· Fabrication and vehicle modifications

· Assembly, modification, and fitment of the 12V/24V automotive electrical components and options on new machinery

· Using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and quality

· Performing routine maintenance and preventative servicing on machinery and equipment

· Diagnosing mechanical faults and implementing repair solutions

· Following workplace safety procedures

· Collaborating with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards

The successful applicant must:

· Have proficient mechanical and fitter knowledge

· Bring demonstrated abilities with hydraulic and pneumatic components

· Be able to use power tools and MiG welding techniques

· Be able to work autonomously whilst maintaining a company driven focus

· Have a current Driver’s License

· Display a sense of urgency and punctuality in their work

· Be neat and tidy, take responsibility for own workspace

· Pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment
