Join the wonderful team at St Francis Xavier OSHC in Runaway Bay as an Assistant Coordinator. You’ll work alongside an experienced Coordinator and dedicated team of educators to create a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where children can explore, learn and grow.
St Francis Xavier Outside School Hours Care provides Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care for up to 120 children. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator looking to develop their leadership skills while making a meaningful difference to children, families and the wider school community.
About the Role
As the Assistant Coordinator, you will provide leadership and guidance to the educator team while supporting the Coordinator with the effective day-to-day operation of the service.
You will:
- Support and guide educators to provide high-quality care and engaging experiences for children
- Assist with the daily operations of the service, including staffing, supervision and administration
- Support the planning, implementation and documentation of engaging programs and activities
- Assist with maintaining compliance with the National Quality Framework, service policies and Catholic Early EdCare requirements
- Step into the Responsible Person role when required
- Support positive and professional relationships with children, families, educators and the school community
- Assist with family communication and responding to enquiries
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for all children
- Support continuous improvement and contribute to the ongoing development of the service
- Work collaboratively with the Coordinator and educator team to achieve positive outcomes for children and families
- Get involved in exciting Vacation Care programs and excursions
About You
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about working with primary school-aged children and is ready to take on greater leadership responsibility.
You will bring:
- Experience working in an OSHC or similar education and care environment
- A passion for creating positive experiences for children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Confidence supporting and guiding a team
- An understanding of the National Quality Framework and relevant compliance requirements
- The ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- A proactive and cooperative approach to daily operations
- A commitment to providing safe, inclusive and high-quality care
