Empowering Aboriginal Healthcare: Aboriginal Liaison Officer
Make a real difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and their communities.
About the role
Provide cultural support and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and families
Facilitate communication between healthcare teams and community members
Deliver cultural awareness education to clinical and administrative staff
Develop and maintain relationships with local Aboriginal organisations and community groups
Support discharge planning and care coordination for Aboriginal patients
About you
Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally sensitive and accountable manner with Aboriginal individuals, families and communities
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with Aboriginal people, non-Aboriginal people, health workers and other organisations
Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and community issues
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in advocacy or community liaison roles preferred
