CAD Constructions is looking for an experienced, trade-qualified person to join our growing team as a Project Coordinator / Estimator.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tradesperson who has strong practical construction knowledge and is ready to move away from being on the tools full-time and into estimating, planning and operations coordination.This is a key position within CAD Constructions and will work closely with our Directors, Operations Supervisor and administration team.The RoleAs our Project Coordinator / Estimator, you will be responsible for taking jobs from initial enquiry and scope through to an accurate quotation and clear delivery plan.Once a job is approved, you will establish the budget, labour allowances, materials and expected timeframe for the works and work closely with our Operations Supervisor to ensure the job is progressing in line with what has been quoted.Your responsibilities will include:Attending site inspections and assessing required worksPreparing detailed scopes of workEstimating labour, materials, subcontractors and project costsPreparing accurate and competitive quotationsReading plans, specifications and client scopesObtaining supplier and subcontractor pricingEstablishing realistic labour allowances and job timeframesSetting expected completion dates and project milestonesProviding the Operations Supervisor with clear job budgets, allowances and delivery expectationsMonitoring job progress against quoted labour, costs and timeframesFollowing up with the Operations Supervisor where jobs are falling behind schedule or outside the quoted allowancesIdentifying potential cost or timeframe issues earlyAssisting with variations and additional worksMaintaining communication with key clients regarding quotations, upcoming works and project timeframesWorking with management to improve estimating,
job planning and profitabilityBecoming a key point of contact within CAD Constructions for clients, suppliers and subcontractorsThis is not a site supervisor position.
Our Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing the field team and day-to-day delivery of works.
Your role is to ensure our jobs are properly scoped, accurately quoted, realistically planned and commercially monitored through to completion.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will be:Experienced in the building, construction or maintenance industryStrong in practical construction knowledgeAble to accurately assess how long works should takeConfident estimating labour and material requirementsCommercially minded and conscious of job profitabilityHighly organised with robust attention to detailComfortable communicating with clients, trades, suppliers and managementConfident holding people accountable to agreed project timeframesAble to identify potential problems before they impact a project's budget or deadlineComputer literate and willing to learn our systemsPositive, reliable and looking for a long-term career opportunityExperience in carpentry, building maintenance, renovations, insurance works, commercial maintenance or similar construction environments will be highly regarded.Why CAD Constructions?
