identifying trends and establishing root causes behind equipment failureProvide independent technical review and inspection of vessels to drive asset maintenance improvementLead and support in vessel new building programme and new vessel delivery in operationsCreate and maintain relationships with key suppliers and contractors for effective fleet maintenance and supportEnsure vessel compliance with all relevant regulations and Svitzer standards in relation to workplace health and safety, environmental and security issues, in all areas of controlWhat You'll BringTo thrive in this role, you'll bring:Proven experience in marine engineering and vessel managementTertiary qualification in engineering / naval architecture with marine qualifications highly desirableExperience in managing a team or function within a matrix organisationExperience in dealing with classification societies and statutory bodies with any matters relating to vessel certification/documentation compliance and variationsAbility to diagnose the root cause of technical problems and suggest practical, innovative, and timely solutions that meet the needs of the businessAbility to build relationships, both internally and with external service contractors and parts suppliers, to facilitate a cooperative and efficient working environmentBuilding a Diverse WorkplaceIn Svitzer we value the diversity of our talent and will always strive to recruit the best person for the job - we value diversity in all its forms, including but not limited to gender, age, nationality, race, sexual orientation, disability, or religious beliefs.
