Our client is a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Western Sydney, with a strong presence in its market and a focus on operational excellence.Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Junior Financial Accountant to join their finance team and gain exposure to both financial and management accounting within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.About the RoleReporting to the Finance Manager, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, with a particular focus on general ledger accounting, reconciliations, inventory, costing and month-end reporting.This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 1-3 years' accounting experience who wants to broaden their commercial exposure and develop their career within a manufacturing workplace.A key requirement of the role is hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), ideally within a manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-based business.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with month-end and year-end financial close processesPrepare general ledger and balance sheet reconciliationsProcess journals, accruals, prepayments and other accounting adjustmentsAssist with inventory accounting and stock reconciliationsSupport inventory valuation and investigate stock variancesAssist with product costing,
COGS and manufacturing cost analysisAnalyse production and inventory variances and elevate discrepanciesAssist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as requiredPerform bank and other key account reconciliationsAssist with preparation of monthly financial and management reportsSupport budgeting, forecasting and variance analysisMaintain accurate financial data within Microsoft Dynamics 365Assist with audit requirements and provide supporting documentationWork closely with operations, supply chain, warehouse and production teamsAssist the Finance Manager with ad hoc reporting and financial analysisAbout YouWe are looking for an accounting professional who is commercially minded, analytical and keen to develop their career.You will ideally have:Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline1-3 years' experience in a financial accounting roleHands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)Experience working within manufacturing, FMCG, wholesale, distribution or another inventory-based environmentUnderstanding of inventory accounting and reconciliationsExposure to product costing, COGS or manufacturing variances will be highly regardedGood understanding of accounting principles and month-end processesStrong Excel skills, including PivotTables and formulasExcellent attention to detail and numerical accuracyStrong communication skills and the ability to work with non-finance stakeholdersA proactive approach and willingness to learn
