The OpportunitySurvey Management Solutions (SMS) is continuing to grow, and we're looking for an experienced Senior Surveyor to join our regional Victorian team, based in Bendigo.This is a senior hands‐on role suited to an experienced engineering or construction surveyor who is comfortable taking ownership of projects, working directly with clients and site teams, and providing technical leadership to other surveyors.Working closely with the Regional Manager and wider SMS team, you'll help deliver a diverse range of civil infrastructure, land development and construction projects throughout Bendigo and the surrounding region.You'll have the opportunity to work autonomously while remaining part of an experienced and supportive national surveying team, with access to modern survey technology, software and equipment.What You'll Be DoingEvery project is different, but your responsibilities will include:Taking responsibility for the delivery of surveying services across civil construction, infrastructure and land development projectsPlanning, coordinating and completing engineering set out, feature, level and as‐built surveysEstablishing, maintaining and verifying survey control networksUndertaking survey computations, reductions and quality assurance checksPreparing digital terrain models, design models and machine guidance filesProducing accurate survey data for quantities, progress claims, conformance and material calculationsOperating and providing technical support for GPS, Total Stations and machine guidance systemsReviewing construction drawings, design models and survey information before works commenceIdentifying potential design, set out or construction issues and working with project teams to resolve themLiaising directly with Project Managers, Engineers,



Foremen and construction crewsProviding technical advice and survey support to clients and site personnelCoordinating survey priorities across multiple projects and responding to changing site requirementsMentoring and supporting Surveyors and junior team members where requiredReviewing survey work to ensure accuracy, compliance and required tolerances are achievedMaintaining survey equipment, calibration records and project documentationCompleting reports, timesheets, QA records and other required project documentationPromoting a strong culture of safety, professionalism and technical quality.About YouYou're an experienced survey professional who enjoys taking ownership of projects, solving technical problems and working closely with construction teams to deliver successful outcomes.You'll ideally have:A Degree or Diploma in Surveying, Spatial Science, Geomatics or a related disciplineApproximately 5+ years' experience in engineering, civil construction or infrastructure surveyingStrong experience in construction set out, as‐built surveying and survey controlDemonstrated experience using GPS and Total StationsExperience with survey processing, modelling and engineering survey softwareExperience preparing digital terrain models and machine guidance data would be highly regardedStrong understanding of survey tolerances, QA requirements and construction documentationThe ability to interpret civil construction drawings, designs and specificationsThe ability to work independently and manage survey requirements across multiple projectsStrong communication skills and confidence liaising directly with clients,



engineers and construction teamsThe ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced surveyorsA White Card and current driver's licenceA strong commitment to safety, quality and professional standards.Experience working within regional civil construction, subdivisions, roads, drainage, utilities or major infrastructure projects would be highly regarded.Why Join SMS?
