Design & Build Recruitment – Sydney Western Suburbs NSWAccountant | Western Sydney | ConstructionWe are currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join a well-established project-based business in Western Sydney.This is a hands‐on accounting role focused specifically on project accounting, WIP, forecasting and month‐end reporting.
Working closely with the Finance Manager, you'll play an important role in supporting the financial management of a busy construction operation.The RolePrepare and maintain accurate WIP reporting across construction projectsAssist with forecasting, budgeting and financial analysisPrepare and support month‐end reporting and reconciliationsAssist with accounts receivable and project‐related invoicingManage and process progress claims and project invoicesUpload new projects and relevant financial information into internal systemsMonitor project financials and assist with identifying variancesProvide day‐to‐day accounting support to the Finance ManagerWork closely with project and operational teams to ensure financial information is accurate and up to dateAbout YouWe're looking for a construction‐focused Accountant who understands the financial side of project‐based environments and is comfortable working closely with project teams.You will ideally have:Previous accounting experience within construction, building or infrastructureStrong experience with WIP, forecasting and project accountingExperience with month‐end reporting and financial analysisExposure to progress claims, invoicing and accounts receivableStrong attention to detail and the ability to work with large volumes of project dataThe ability to work independently while providing solid support to the Finance ManagerExperience with a Tier 1/Tier 2 construction business or similar project environment would be highly regardedThis is not a generalist accounting role focused on BAS, tax and ATO compliance.
The position is specifically focused on project and construction accounting, supporting the Finance Manager and ensuring the financial performance of projects is accurately reported and managed.
