Permanent full-time or part-time scientist position

Grade 1 or Grade 2

Histolab is an independent, pathologist owned and managed pathology laboratory in Kew East. The laboratory processes primarily specimens received from dermatologists and specialist plastic surgeons.
n
Our laboratory staff are involved in all aspects of routine histology including
immunohistochemistry
and surgical cut-up.
n
We are currently seeking a permanent full-time Medical Scientist (38 hours per week) Monday to Friday. For the right candidate, we are also open to considering a permanent part-time position.
n
The successful applicant will participate in a rotating roster, although a preferred set roster may be considered for the right candidate.
n
The successful applicant will be expected to have:
n

A Bachelor of Applied Science (Laboratory Medicine)



or equivalent qualification.
n
Excellent knowledge and practical aptitude across routine histological techniques, including embedding, microtomy,
immunohistochemistry
and special stains.
n
Experience in surgical cut-up is desirable but not essential.
n
A strong commitment to quality and attention to detail.
n
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
n
A motivated and positive approach to laboratory work.
n
n
This is an prospect to join a small, specialist laboratory where staff are involved across all aspects of the histology workflow.
