Use your professional skills to support women, babies and families through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.Join Carbal's Growing Deadly Families (GDF) team and provide practical, psychosocial and culturally safe support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and families during one of the most important periods of their lives.Full-time or part-time – we're open to discussing what works for the right personMonday to Friday – no weekends or shift workBased in ToowoombaGenerous salary packaging to increase your take-home payWork across clinic, outreach and community settingsWork alongside GPs, Midwives, Aboriginal Health Workers and other health professionalsSupport women and families throughout pregnancy and early parentingProfessional development and ongoing supportMeaningful work with genuine community impactAbout the RoleCarbal is looking for a Social Worker to join our Growing Deadly Families team, supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, babies, children and families throughout pregnancy, birth and the early parenting period.This is a varied, relationship-focused role combining psychosocial support, assessment, case management, advocacy and practical assistance.
You'll work directly with women and families to understand their individual circumstances, build on their strengths and help address the social and practical issues that can affect health and wellbeing.You may support families experiencing challenges such as social isolation, family stress, housing instability, financial hardship or other complex circumstances.
You'll help connect clients with appropriate health, social, housing, financial, family and community services and advocate for them when barriers to accessing support arise.Importantly, you won't be doing this work in isolation.
