We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused Medical Waste Driver to join a busy healthcare waste operation. This is a 3-month assignment with potential to extend for the right candidate.

$***** per hour + penalties

Monday to Friday
n
Occasional weekend and public holiday work
n
Variable start times between 12:00am and 5:00pm
n
Typical shifts of 8–12 hours
n
Overtime and applicable allowances paid in accordance with the Waste Management Award
n
Rockhampton-based
n
3-month assignment with potential to extend

About the Role
n
This is a physically active driving role involving the safe collection, transport and delivery of medical waste bins to healthcare facilities and collection points.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
Safely delivering medical waste bins along allocated routes
n
Loading and unloading medical waste bins from the vehicle
n
Regularly lifting and moving bins weighing up to 30kg
n
Completing collections and deliveries safely and within scheduled timeframes
n
Providing professional customer service at healthcare facilities
n
Following all workplace health and safety procedures
n




Communicating with dispatch and supervisors regarding deliveries, delays or issues
n
Completing vehicle and safety checks as required
n
Maintaining a high standard of safety and professionalism
n
n
About You
n
To be successful, you will have:
n
n
Current HR Licence – automatic licence accepted
n
Previous delivery driving experience is advantageous
n
Strong work ethic and reliable attendance
n
Good communication and customer service skills
n
Solid commitment to workplace health and safety
n
Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 30kg
n
Physical capability to undertake regular lifting, bending and standing
n
Flexibility to work varying start times, weekends and public holidays when required
n
Understanding that this is a hands-on role and not simply point-to-point driving
n
Forklift licence advantageous but not essential
n
n
