The Company
Our client is a local council delivering community programs that support participation, connection and wellbeing across the local government area.
/n The Youth Team works with young people aged 12–25, delivering inclusive cultural, educational, social and recreational programs in partnership with schools, community organisations and other stakeholders.
/n
They are seeking casual Youth & Community Workers to join their pool and provide additional support across existing programs. This is a multi-site role, with programs delivered across locations including Millers Point, Moore Park, Rosebery and other community venues.
The Job /n
This is a hands-on support role working alongside permanent staff to safely and effectively deliver structured youth programs.
/n
Key responsibilities include:
/n
/n
Support youth and community programs, including after-school and school holiday activities.
/n
Engage and build positive relationships with young people aged 12–25.
/n
Assist with activity supervision, set-up and pack-down.
/n
Follow safety procedures,
risk assessments and safeguarding requirements.
/n
Support administration, referrals and support pathways.
/n
Identify and elevate concerns or disclosures appropriately.
/n
Work collaboratively with staff and community stakeholders.
/n
You /n
To be successful, you will have:
/n
/n
Experience working with young people across youth, education, recreation or community services.
/n
A qualification in Youth Work, Community Services or a related field is desirable.
/n
Robust communication, interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
/n
A cooperative, energetic and proactive approach.
/n
Solid safety and risk awareness.
/n
Confidence supporting structured programs across multiple locations.
/n
Flexibility to work shifts based on program and operational needs.
/n
Mandatory Requirements /n
/n
Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
/n
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
/n
National Criminal Record Check.
/n
/n
