The OpportunityAn exceptional opportunity has become available to join one of Perth's leading specialist orthopaedic practices in a newly defined senior management role.
This large, established and highly regarded practice brings together a substantial team of specialist clinicians and experienced administrative and clinical support staff within a premium private healthcare environment.
As Practice & People Manager, you will provide visible, hands-on leadership across the people and day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring teams are well supported, workflows are effective and consistently high standards of patient and clinician service are maintained.
Importantly, this position forms part of a newly defined management structure which separates day-to-day people and practice leadership from broader strategic, commercial and organisational responsibilities.
This provides a clear management remit with the opportunity to focus on what this role does best — leading people, strengthening practice operations and creating an environment in which both staff and clinicians can perform at their best.About the RoleReporting to the Partners and working collaboratively with the broader management team, you will provide leadership across a busy and complex specialist orthopaedic environment.Key responsibilities will include:Leading and supporting administrative, reception, nursing and practice staffWorkforce planning, rostering and effective resource allocationRecruitment, onboarding, induction and staff developmentManaging HR and employment practices, including employment documentation, policies, performance processes, leave management, workplace conduct and liaison with external HR advisersSupporting a positive,
accountable and professional workplace cultureOverseeing the effective day-to-day operation of the practiceEnsuring efficient reception, medical secretarial, nursing and administrative workflowsSupporting clinicians with operational and practice requirementsMaintaining high standards of patient service and managing operational escalationsOverseeing day-to-day WHS implementation, incident management, staff training and compliance with WHS policies and proceduresSupporting staff compliance with privacy, confidentiality, healthcare administration andpractice policies, including appropriate access to patient information and clinical systemsReviewing and improving practice systems, processes and workflowsOverseeing routine operational IT and service-provider requirementsSupporting operational policy, compliance and reporting requirementsAbout YouYou will be an experienced and confident healthcare leader who combines strong people-management capability with excellent operational judgement.
You understand the complexities and nuances of specialist private practice and are comfortable leading a substantial team, managing competing priorities and working confidently with senior medical specialists and multiple stakeholders.You will bring:Demonstrated management experience within specialist or private healthcareStrong people leadership and staff-management capabilityStrong practical HR and employment-practices capability, including workforce planning, performance management,
employee relations and staff complianceSound understanding of workplace health and safety, privacy, confidentiality and compliance requirements within a healthcare environmentStrong understanding of specialist practice operations, clinical workflows and medical administrationExcellent organisational and problem-solving capabilityConfidence working with senior clinicians and multiple stakeholdersSound judgement, discretion and professional maturityA collaborative leadership style, together with the confidence to make decisions and provide clear directionRelevant tertiary qualifications in business, management, healthcare administration, human resources or a related discipline highly regardedPrevious orthopaedic or surgical-specialist experience highly regardedThe Offer$110,000-$120,000 + superannuationPermanent full time senior management positionPredominantly onsite role providing genuine visibility and connection with the practice teamClearly defined people and practice leadership portfolioOpportunity to lead an experienced team within a large, established specialist environmentNewly defined management structure providing clearer separation of operational and broader organisational responsibilitiesOpportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the continued development of one of Perth's leading specialist orthopaedic practicesThis is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced specialist healthcare leader ready to take ownership of a substantial people and practice portfolio within a highly regarded private medical environment.All applications will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.
