Job Description
Hotelstaff has been placing hospitality talent since ****.
n
As we head into ****, we have an opening for hospitality qualified who recognises the opportunity a changing employment landscape presents — in a market notoriously short of skilled labour.
n
Do you have a start-up mindset?
n
Are you prepared to do the work to be at the service of your clients?
n
Can you translate your hospitality skills into an office based role?
n
About the Role
n
We match casual hospitality talent to short term (and sometimes longer term) assignments.
n
On the client side, that means customer service above all else - responsive to their needs and anticipating them when you can... Its all about relationships that are built on trust and deliverables. The title might be a Staffing coordinator but this is all about the service you provide to the ultimate service industy - hospitality.
n
On the candidate side, it means the exact same thing - build the relationships - get to know the Talent so that you can respond when the need arises - who can do what, who likes going where - who is gonna represent the brand best for that special assignment!
n
What You Will Actually Do
n
Fill the roles — both sides of the pass. Front of House and Back of House, taken equally seriously.
n
Build relationships with our Talent and our clients
n
Manage the admin associated with engaging a large casual workforce
n
Have fun and contribute to our very special culture!
n
There will be weeks where you hear no far more often than yes. Clients who don't return calls. In a market like this,
traction is earned over months rather than days and this is the part of the job that is not for the faint-hearted.
n
What makes it winnable is your attitude and commitment to success.
n
Who This Suits
n
You know hospitality properly — from venues, kitchens, hotels, catering or events, or from recruiting into them. You understand what the industry demands, and the difference between a chef who can hold a pass and one who cannot.
n
You are confident on both sides of the pass, and brief both equally well.
n
You are a hunter. And you are hungry - you love what it feels like to win knowing your wins have meant someone has found a job today (hopefully many people have)
n
You are resilient. You have built something from a standing start before and stayed with it through the quiet weeks.
n
You manage yourself. We are too small to manage anyone closely.
n
You are flexible - this isn't a 9 - 5 Mon - Fri job - we work when the industry works. Sometimes that means long hours for Grand Prix, Australian Open and everything else Melbourne has to offer.
n
Above all, we are looking for a self-starter — someone who can absorb a setback, recover quickly, and return the following day to do it all again.
n
What We Offer
n
Office based at our St Kilda Road office.
n
The opportunity to build something substantial with the backing of a 40-year hospitality brand and network.
n
What Does Success Look Like?
n
That is the easiest question to answer.
n
When our clients welcome you into their establishments and our Talent asks for you by name you have made an impact - the success that follows from there is limited only by your ambition
