Job Description
This role involves overseeing infection control and cold chain management, performing clinical duties including triage, immunisations, injections, wound management, and chronic disease management. You will assist doctors with clinical procedures, maintain clinical documentation, and explain procedures to patients with support and reassurance.

Key responsibilities

Oversee the Infection Control and Cold Chain
n
Perform clinical duties within required level of clinical competency, including triage, immunisations and other injections, wound management, chronic disease management
n
Assist doctors with clinical procedures and maintain clinical documentation
n
Explain procedures to patients, providing them with support and reassurance
n
Assist with triage, data management, diagnostic services, networking with other providers, planning and management of patient care and patient advocacy
n
Telephone patients with test results as directed by medical staff
n
Conduct preventative and screening procedures
n
Assist with patient education and community health promotion activities
n




Coordinate patient recall and outreach programs, GP management plans, and team care arrangements
n
Ensure sterilisation and maintenance of clinical equipment
n
About you
n
Act within the practice and nursing codes of ethics and at an appropriate level of clinical competence at all times
n
Maintain awareness of current evidence and research on clinical practices
n
Consistently be aware of, and comply with, workplace health and safety requirements
n
Maintain stocks of clinical supplies, including correct storage, removal and disposal of out-of-date stock and ordering supplies
n
Manage the practice's sterilisation process, ensuring sterility and integrity
n
Educate all members of the practice team regarding their responsibilities in infection prevention and control
n
Ensure the practice's waste management complies with local, state and federal regulations
n
Provide direct and indirect supervision to other nurse(s)
