This is an prospect for an experienced
Civil Designer or Drafting Team Leader
to take responsibility for a well-established drafting section within a highly regarded Tier 1 engineering consultancy.
n
The Canberra office has a substantial pipeline of urban development projects and requires a capable leader who can manage the drafting team, coordinate workloads and maintain a consistently high standard of technical delivery.
n
You will remain involved in the design and documentation process while leading, mentoring and supporting a good-sized team of civil designers and drafters.
The position will include n
n
Managing the day-to-day operation of the civil drafting team
n
Allocating workloads and monitoring project deadlines
n
Reviewing drawings, designs and technical documentation
n
Maintaining drafting standards and quality procedures
n
Coordinating closely with civil engineers and project managers
n
Mentoring and developing junior and intermediate team members
n
Supporting the delivery of major urban development projects throughout the Canberra region
n
Assisting with resource planning and future team growth
n
To be considered, you will ideally offer n
n
Strong civil drafting and design experience within an engineering consultancy
n
Advanced 12D capability, which is essential
n
Previous experience leading or supervising a drafting and design team
n
A solid understanding of urban development projects
n
Experience across roads, earthworks, drainage, utilities and subdivisions
n
Civil 3D experience would be helpful but is not mandatory
n
Exposure to MUSIC and DRAINS would be an additional advantage
n
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
n
The ability to coordinate competing priorities and work effectively with engineers, clients and other disciplines
n
n
This role would suit an established Drafting Team Leader or a highly experienced Senior Civil Designer ready to take the next step into formal team leadership.
