Multiple Senior Infrastructure Engineer (SAP Basis) roles available across Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide.THE ROLEOur client, a large federal government agency delivering essential services to millions of Australians, is seeking a Senior SAP Basis Engineers (EL1 equivalent) to join their team on an initial 12-month labour hire contract with potential extension.
These hybrid roles are available across ACT, NSW, VIC, QLD, and SA, with work-from-home arrangements considered for candidates who reside within reasonable distance of a capital city office.
A Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance is required — or the ability to obtain one.
Start date is 1 December ****.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGProviding senior SAP Basis administration and engineering services across a large, complex SAP landscapePerforming system installations, upgrades, patching, transport management and lifecycle management activitiesMonitoring, analysing and optimising SAP system performance, availability and reliabilityDesigning and implementing high availability, backup, recovery and disaster recovery solutionsSupporting the agency's SAP S/4HANA transition, including migration planning, system conversions,



data migration and operational readinessConducting technical assessments and proof-of-concept activities for SAP modernisation initiativesCollaborating with architects, security specialists, project teams and APS staff to deliver platform outcomesMentoring APS employees and facilitating knowledge transfer to build internal SAP capabilityDeveloping technical documentation, operating procedures and support modelsParticipating in on-call rosters and scheduled release shift work as requiredWHAT YOU'LL BRINGDemonstrated senior experience as an SAP Basis Administrator or SAP Technical Engineer in large, complex environmentsCurrent SAP certification in SAP Basis Administration, SAP HANA, SAP S/4HANA or equivalent technology disciplinesProven experience supporting SAP S/4HANA implementations, migrations or technical conversionsHands-on experience with database migration and transition to SAP HANA platformsStrong knowledge of SAP transport management, performance tuning, system monitoring and troubleshootingExperience with Linux and enterprise infrastructure environments supporting SAPDemonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders at a senior levelNICE TO HAVEPrevious experience supporting SAP environments within Australian Government agenciesExperience designing SAP high availability and disaster recovery solutionsKnowledge of cloud-hosted or hybrid SAP architecturesInvolvement in large-scale ERP transformation or platform consolidation programs
