Senior Crane Technician – Overhead Cranes Location: Melbourne, VIC Salary: $60 per hour + Super Permanent | Full-TimeThe OpportunityWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Crane Technician to join a specialist overhead crane business based in Melbourne.
This is a hands‐on role suited to an experienced Overhead Crane Technician, Crane Electrician or Electrical Technician with solid experience across crane servicing, breakdowns, maintenance, fault finding and repairs.
You'll be responsible for servicing and maintaining a range of overhead crane equipment across customer sites throughout Melbourne, while also providing technical support and guidance to other technicians.Key ResponsibilitiesService, maintain and repair overhead cranes and lifting equipmentCarry out preventative maintenance and routine inspectionsDiagnose and fault-find electrical, mechanical and control system issuesComplete breakdown repairs and respond to customer call outsCarry out crane inspections, testing and adjustmentsWork on motors, drives, controls, limit switches, pendant controls and electrical systemsRead and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawingsComplete crane installations, upgrades and modifications where requiredIdentify faults and provide practical solutions to customersComplete service reports,
job documentation and maintenance recordsLiaise directly with customers and provide technical adviceAssist with larger crane projects and complex repairsProvide technical support and guidance to other techniciansEnsure all work is completed safely and in line with relevant Australian StandardsAbout YouPrevious experience working as an Overhead Crane Technician / Crane ElectricianStrong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic experienceExperience servicing, maintaining and repairing overhead cranesA-Grade Electrical Licence – essentialStrong knowledge of crane electrical systems, controls, motors and drivesMechanical knowledge and the ability to carry out mechanical repairsAbility to read electrical schematics and technical drawingsExperience working independently on customer sitesStrong communication and customer service skillsA strong safety focus and ability to work to Australian StandardsCurrent driver's licenceAbility to work as part of a team and provide technical support to junior techniciansPrevious experience with EOT cranes, gantry cranes, hoists or other lifting equipmentWhat's On Offer$60 per hour + SuperPermanent, full-time positionMonday – FridayRDO and annual leave loadingTravel time paidCompany vehicleOngoing training and developmentWork with an established specialist overhead crane businessOpportunity to work on a wide range of crane equipment and projectsGenuine long-term career progressionMelbourne-based role with work across customer sites
