The Senior Claims Officer position is part of a centralised national support service that is responsible for the end-to-end management of a portfolio of complex NSW workers compensation claims with the aim of supporting our employees through their recovery and return to work.
You will manage a wide-range portfolio of claims as well as review and assess workers compensation claims in accordance with NSW Workers Compensation legislation, standards of practice, make liability decisions on claims and treatment.
This role will be responsible for effective claims and injury management strategies.
You will influence, motivate and strive to deliver exceptional claims management outcomes, educating and assisting employees and business managers on workers' compensation.
You will lead case reviews and assist with the development of claims management strategies on all open claims.
To be considered for this role you will have: Extensive experience managing complex Workers' Compensation claims across a diverse portfolio.
Robust knowledge of the NSW Workers' Compensation legislative framework, regulations and Standards of Practice.




Proven ability to make sound liability decisions and manage complex claims outcomes.
Experience developing and implementing effective injury management and return-to-work strategies.
Strong understanding of PIAWE calculations and Workers' Compensation weekly benefits administration.
Ability to identify barriers to recovery and implement person-centred claims management solutions.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels.
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with confidence influencing outcomes.
Strong attention to detail, analytical capability and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
