What You'll Be Doing As an Assistant Store Manager, you'll be the Store Manager's trusted 2IC and a visible leader on the floor.
You'll help provide reliable opening and closing coverage, lead from the counter, coach the team and keep the store running safely and efficiently.
You'll build confidence with trade contractors and DIY customers, drive sales and key store results, and maintain strong operational standards across cash, inventory, merchandising and customer service.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who stays organised under pressure, takes ownership and is motivated by both a well-presented store and strong commercial performance.
This is a full-time role of 38 hours per week based at our Carnegie , VIC, Paint Spot Store.
Our trade retail environment operates across a seven-day roster, so regular weekend availability and flexibility to support opening and closing coverage are important parts of the role.

development and career pathways Access to our Wellbeing Hub and full EAP support Recognition programs that celebrate your impact What We're Looking for 2IC leadership capability, including confidence leading shifts, supporting open and close routines, and stepping up when the Store Manager is unavailable A hands-on coaching style that builds confidence, accountability, product knowledge and consistent service across the team Visible leadership at the counter, with the confidence to serve and build relationships with trade contractors and DIY customers A strong sales focus and genuine interest in store performance, including sales results, KPIs, customer opportunities and profitable growth, not only store presentation Operational discipline across cash handling and EFTPOS, inventory control, stock levels, accurate paint mixing and tinting, merchandising, and daily store routines A safety-first mindset and the physical capacity to safely undertake the manual handling and active duties of a paint retail setting The ability to stay calm, organised and decisive while balancing customers, team priorities and operational demands during busy periods Reliability, personal accountability and roster flexibility, including regular weekend work as a normal part of trade retail Strong communication and customer service skills, with a practical, positive approach to solving problems and supporting the wider network Why Join Us?
