About the Role:
The primary role of the Finance and Investment Officer is to support the Broadband Strategy Section, Broadband and Post Branch. The Branch provides strategic advice and policy leadership on broadband and post matters.
Key responsibilities:
- Review and analyse quarterly subscription notices and equity requests under the Commonwealth Equity Funding Agreement.
- Prepare delegate approval documents and supporting analysis and assurance material.
- Monitor progress across the NBN fibre upgrade program.
- Prepare briefings, visual materials and reporting for senior executives.
- Support share certificate tabling, Senate Estimates material, equity profile reporting, ad hoc appropriation processes and other equity-related administrative processes.
- Analyse NBN Co financial data, products, investment proposals, finance plans, capital management strategy and debt market activities.
- Contribute to risk, regulatory and value-for-money assessments.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including during review and audit processes.
- Provide evidence or input required for relevant review and audit processes.
- Provide knowledge transfer throughout the engagement, including maintaining explicit working papers and records and explaining analysis, assumptions and methods.
SFIA Skills Sought:
The overall financial management, control and stewardship of the IT assets and resources used in the provision of IT services, including the identification of materials and energy costs, ensuring compliance with all governance, legal and regulatory requirements.
FMIT Level 4:
Monitors and maintains all required financial records for compliance and audit to all agreed requirements. Assists all other areas of IT with their financial tasks, especially in the areas of identification of process, service, project and component costs and the calculation and subsequent reduction of all IT service, project, component and process failures. Contributes to financial planning and budgeting. Collates required financial data and reports for analysis and to facilitate decision making
