About the position
Narromine Shire Council are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced applicant for the position of Water Cart Operator.
The objective of this position is to effectively and safely operate Council’s water truck to transport water throughout the shire for the use of other teams within Council.
To safely and competently operate Council plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturers specifications and Council Procedures.
To promote and maintain a positive image of Council to the community.
To be successful in this position you will need to have:
- Good understanding of plant operation and their capabilities
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Class ‘HC’ Drivers Licence
- General Construction Induction (White) Card
It will be desirable for you to have:
- MC Drivers Licence
- Workzone Traffic Control -Traffic Controller
- Workzone Traffic Control – Implement Traffic Control Guidance Plan
- Level I Chainsaw Operators certificate of competency
- Backhoe and other plant competencies
- Experience in heavy haulage
The details relating to this position are:
- The position is graded 8 within Council's salary structure
- The salary range is from $67,360 - $76,189 per annum plus superannuation. The salary step is determined by an annual competency assessment.
- 38 hour working week applies.
NSC has a RDO system whereby every second Monday is a rostered day off.
