About the role
We are looking for a hands-on Procurement Buyer / Planner to manage purchasing and inventory planning across our product range. You will make sure the right stock is in the right place at the right time and cost, working closely with suppliers, warehouse, sales and finance.
Key responsibilities
- Raise, place and manage purchase orders with local and overseas suppliers
- Plan stock levels using forecasts, sales history and lead times to avoid stock-outs and excess
- Maintain accurate item, supplier and pricing data in SAP
- Expedite orders, track shipments and resolve delivery, quantity or invoice discrepancies
- Negotiate pricing, MOQs and terms, and help evaluate supplier performance
- Monitor slow-moving,
short-dated and expiring stock and recommend actions
- Report on inventory levels, open orders and supplier KPIs
About you
- Minimum 2 years experience in purchasing, buying, planning or inventory control
- Solid understanding of procurement and inventory planning principles
- Intermediate to advanced Excel
- Strong attention to detail, organisation and time management
- Valuable written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
- Full working rights in Australia
- SAP highly desirable, otherwise alternate ERP experience
- Pharmaceutical, medical device or healthcare supply chain experience a bonus
- APICS and/or CPIM certification desirable
- Tertiary qualification in business desirable
