Mesh & Bar is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Machine Operator and Overhead Crane Operator to join our team in Pakenham.

About the Roles
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will work within our production operations at our Pakenham site. These are two separate roles, and you will be responsible for either machine operation or overhead crane operation. The positions start as a casual contract with full-time hours, working the 6:00am to 2:00pm & 2pm – 10:06pm shift, with occasional overtime available.
Machine Operator
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and operating production machinery to produce mesh and bar products
- Monitoring output and quality, making adjustments as required
- Carrying out routine equipment checks and reporting faults or hazards
- Keeping your work area clean, safe and organised
Overhead Crane Operator
Your responsibilities will include:
- Safely operating overhead cranes to lift, move and position mesh and bar products
- Loading and unloading materials in line with site procedures
- Completing pre-start checks on cranes and lifting equipment
- Working with the production team to keep materials moving and meet daily targets
About You
To be successful in either role, you will bring:
- Previous experience in a similar machine or crane operating role
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive approach to safety and following WHS procedures
- The ability to manage tasks and work autonomously
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Reliability and the ability to work the 6am to 2pm & 2pm – 10:06pm shift, with flexibility for occasional overtime
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical assessment
Desirable
- LF licence
- Experience in manufacturing, steel or a similar industry
- Knowledge of mesh and bar products
- Additional tickets or qualifications relevant to the role
