The Victorian Bar is seeking an experienced Education Coordinator to support the Bar’s education services and programs.

Reporting to the Education Manager, the primary objectives of the role include accountability for the successful administration and delivery of education programs consisting of seminars, workshops, events and webinars.
The role has a particular focus on the Bar Exam and the Readers' Course, a comprehensive and compulsory program that equips Australian lawyers with the practical training required to successfully transition to life as an independent and self-employed barrister at the Victorian Bar.

The Education Coordinator will:

- Provide high-quality administrative and operational services for the successful delivery of the Victorian Bar’s education and professional development programs including the planning, organisation and delivery of the Victorian Bar Readers’ Course;

- Provide high-quality administrative services for the delivery of the International Advocacy Training Committee’s advocacy training programs;

- Assist the Education team to deliver other education programs (as required), including the Bar’s CPD program, workshops, educational events, accreditation programs and the Bar Entrance Exam;

- Liaise with relevant Bar’s education committee(s) to coordinate meetings and provide timely and efficient administrative support for the preparation of meeting papers and recording of minutes;

- Administer education content on the Victorian Bar Education web pages and LMS (iMIS); and

- Administer webinars, livestreaming and the recording of seminars.

Key Selection Criteria

The successful candidate will have:

- Demonstrated experience delivering education and professional development programs;

- Demonstrated experience in project planning and coordination;

- Tech savvy including intermediate skill level in MS Office suite and demonstrated experience using LMS and CRM platforms, as well as creating and/or maintaining web pages;

- Superior administrative, organisational and prioritisation skills;





- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written);

- Flexibility to work outside of core business hours to support the delivery of programs;

- Strong customer service ethos and advanced problem-solving skills;

- Minute-taking and drafting minutes skills is desirable (training will be provided);

- Experience working in the legal sector (desirable), continuing education sector or a professional services firm (advantageous);

- Experience using iMIS is advantageous but not essential.

Demonstrated ability:

- Well-developed maturity, discretion and stakeholder management expertise;

- Excellent attention to detail;

- Technical skills required to efficiently prepare training materials, facilitate webinars and update LMS and website content;

- Adaptable approach to a fast-paced role, requiring the ability to adapt to changing and competing demands;

- Contribute to team cohesion and fulfilment of team goals and bring a positive attitude to working with others.

Hours

This is a 12-month maternity leave contract and will be office-based with the flexibility to WFH one day a week during non-peak periods after a qualifying period, as agreed with the Bar. There will be an expectation that subject to program delivery requirements, flexibility to work outside of standard business hours will be required from time to time (flexibility is reciprocal).
