Housing Hub

Box Hill

About Us

Established in 2017, Housing Hub was created to help people with disability find suitable, quality housing and support the development of an effective disability housing market. Originally an initiative of the Summer Foundation, we now operate as a social enterprise.

With thousands of properties listed across Australia, Housing Hub connects housing seekers and housing providers, making it easier for people with disability to find the right home and have choice and control over where they live and who they live with.

About the Role

Are you an experienced Project Manager who excels at turning strategic innovation into seamless execution? If so, then this amazing 2 year contract (with a possibility to extend to permanent).

Reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), you will lead our PMO function, design delivery frameworks, and oversee a dynamic portfolio of new product pilots. In this role, you will build project management capabilities across the Growth and Innovation team, foster a supportive and inclusive team culture, and ensure rigorous governance, financial oversight, and safeguarding across all pilot initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & PMO Establishment

- PMO Leadership: Iterate, implement and maintain our PMO framework (policy, templates, stage gates, Asana structures, and reporting standards) across all new product pilots.
- Capability Building: Coach and guide product managers, setting delivery standards and building PMO capability across the Growth and Innovation team
- Culture & HR: Foster an inclusive, positive environment, managing team members with coaching and supervision in line with our leadership expectations.
- External Representation: Represent the pilot portfolio in executive forums and promote Housing Hub at industry meetings, events, and conferences.

Portfolio Assurance & Financial Tracking

- Portfolio Oversight: Maintain a single view of all pilots, tracking milestones, KPIs, dependencies,

resourcing, and key business case assumptions.
- Risk & Remediation: Own the portfolio risk, issues, and decisions register; independently rate pilot delivery status and require remediation plans when off-track.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor pilot spend against approved innovation fund budgets in partnership with Finance, preparing variance reports and early forecasts.

Governance, Reporting & Transition

- Stand-ups & Reporting: Lead weekly Growth & Innovation stand-ups and produce monthly portfolio reports for the Executive Team, FAR Committee, and Board.
- Stage Gates & Evaluation: Coordinate stage-gate reviews (scale, adjust, pause, or close pilots) and manage the smooth transition of successful pilots into business-as-usual (BAU).
- Safeguarding & Co-Design: Ensure every pilot actively embeds co-design with people with disability, maintaining strict privacy, accessibility, and risk checkpoints.

Success Measures look like this:

- 3 Months: PMO framework, project management policy, and reporting templates are approved and actively in use.
- 6 Months: All pilots are reporting monthly to a common standard, with the portfolio risk register live and operational.
- 12 Months: Zero unannounced milestone slippage reaches Executive/Board level; at least one pilot successfully progresses through a formal stage-gate decision.

What it is essential to have in your toolbox:

- Qualification or equivalent experience in Project Management, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience establishing a PMO or project portfolio framework (policy, governance, stage gates,

Asana structures).
- Demonstrated experience managing complex portfolios, pilots, or stage-gated programs with budget oversight and variance reporting.
- Strong ability to influence and hold senior stakeholders accountable without direct line authority.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of writing concise executive/Board decision papers.
- High degree of autonomy, adaptability, and sound judgment in complex environments.

What would be a huge bonus:

- Exposure to change management, commercial transformation, or business improvement.
- Knowledge of the NDIS and accessible housing sector.
- Passion for and commitment to accessibility, inclusive practice, and the voice of people with disability.
