Smith & Co is recruiting on behalf of several well-established Australian manufacturers known for designing and building premium equipment for businesses across Australia and overseas. You'll assemble high-quality, custom-built machinery from detailed engineering drawings. Working in a modern workshop, you'll be involved in every stage of the build process, ensuring equipment is assembled to the highest standards before installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly of custom machinery and perform maintenance work
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Install, align and fit mechanical components and assemblies
- Carry out mechanical adjustments, testing and quality checks
- Work closely with engineers and the production team to deliver completed projects
What You'll Bring
- Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter
- Previous experience in machinery assembly or manufacturing
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Solid communication skills and a proactive team-first attitude
Desirable Experience
- OEM or workshop assembly experience
- Conveyor systems or processing equipment
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Stainless steel machinery or food manufacturing equipment
Salary & Benefits
- $50-55 per hour casual + penalties
- Genuine temp-to-permanent opportunity
