The Prospect:
As the Senior Civil Designer, you will play a key role in the delivery of Council's road and drainage infrastructure program, providing specialist engineering design, technical documentation and design advice for transport and stormwater assets.
Working across a diverse portfolio of capital works projects, you will assist the planning and design of Council's road and stormwater drainage infrastructure, delivering practical, innovative and cost-effective solutions that support community growth and network resilience. While the role also contributes to cycleways, open spaces and recreation projects, the primary focus is the design, review and delivery of road and drainage infrastructure projects. You will undertake investigations, assess project feasibility, review complex designs and collaborate with internal stakeholders, consultants and external authorities to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with operational, regulatory and community requirements.
This role offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise across the full design lifecycle while contributing to the successful delivery of infrastructure that supports our growing community.
About you:
To succeed in this role, you will possess tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Design Engineering or a related discipline, together with extensive experience in civil infrastructure design.
You will demonstrate strong technical capability and practical experience in:
- Designing Council's local and regional roads, intersections, drainage networks, culverts and associated transport infrastructure.
- Preparing concept, detailed and IFC designs for Council's infrastructures.Undertaking hydraulic and drainage investigations and developing practical stormwater management solutions.

- Applying Austroads, TfNSW, Australian Standards and Council's Engineering Specifications.
- Preparing accurate engineering designs, construction documentation and technical specifications.
- Reviewing and assessing complex civil designs prepared internally and by consultants.
- Undertaking quantity calculations, cost estimates and project investigations.
- Using Civil 3D, Civil Site Design and DRAINS to develop effective design solutions.
- Applying civil construction methodologies to create practical and buildable outcomes.
You will be highly organised, capable of managing multiple projects and competing priorities, while maintaining a strong focus on quality, customer service and meeting delivery timeframes.
Experience with Civil 3D, Stringer, Benchmark and Microsoft Project will be highly regarded.
Benefits:
This is a full-time, permanent role working a 35-hour week, with a base salary range of $102,017 - $122,269 per year based on demonstrated experience and qualifications + allowances + 12% super.
