About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Product Engineer to help build, enhance and maintain the eQ8 platform. Working closely with Product, Design and Engineering teams, you will translate customer and business needs into secure, scalable and high-quality software across frontend, backend and cloud environments. This is a hands-on role for a product-minded engineer who enjoys ownership, collaboration and solving meaningful customer problems.

Key responsibilities

- Design, develop, test and maintain product features across the eQ8 platform.

- Collaborate with the VP Product & Engineering, Product Designer and customer-facing teams to translate business and user requirements into high-quality software solutions.

- Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity across software development, debugging, testing, documentation and code optimisation.

- Contribute technical ideas during feature planning and product discussions.

- Build secure, maintainable and scalable software across frontend, backend and cloud environments.

- Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices to support software quality, reliability and maintainability.

- Help improve development workflows, including testing, CI/CD pipelines, automation and application monitoring.

- Troubleshoot, debug and resolve software defects while supporting continuous product improvement.

- Take ownership of work from implementation through testing, deployment and post-release support.

- Work collaboratively within a small, agile team to deliver product outcomes that meet customer and business needs.

About you

- A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

- Relevant experience as a Product Engineer, Software Engineer,



Full Stack Engineer or in a closely related software engineering role.

- Experience developing and maintaining commercial software in a SaaS or product-led environment across backend, frontend and cloud technologies.

- Experience with .NET/.NET Core or a comparable modern backend technology, React or another modern JavaScript framework, and Azure or a similar cloud platform.

- Working knowledge of secure coding, software development best practices, application lifecycle management, Agile delivery, testing and CI/CD.

- Strong software engineering, analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting capability.

- Ability to translate product and user requirements into practical, maintainable technical solutions.

- Effective collaboration and communication with Product, Design, Engineering and customer-facing stakeholders.

- Product-minded and customer-focused, with the ability to take ownership from implementation through release support.

- Curious, adaptable and committed to quality, learning and continuous improvement, including the effective use of AI-assisted development tools.

- Experience using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software delivery while maintaining code quality (highly regarded)

- Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform or ARM (highly regarded)
